Cybersecurity awareness game

Even in the ICT sector, traditional cybersecurity training often misses the mark. Too theoretical. Too passive. Too easy to forget. Cyber Crime Game brings cybersecurity to life through realistic simulation, competition, and interactive storytelling.

One of the biggest risks? “Tech trust.” Cybercriminals exploit the fact that IT staff are often trusted without question. Using deepfakes, spoofed tickets, or voice phishing (vishing), attackers impersonate clients or colleagues—resulting in credential leaks, remote access, or misconfigured firewalls.

The Game

In Cyber Crime Game, you’re not the defender—you’re the attacker. Your goal: hack your own IT company for ransom. You’ll exploit habits, test internal processes, and find blind spots—before real hackers do.

The game consists of 8 modular levels and a final awareness exam, customized to reflect ICT realities. Here are four levels built for tech teams:

  • #1 – Reconnaissance & Research: Use OSINT to uncover what’s publicly available about your devs, support engineers, or founders. You’ll be surprised how much a simple GitHub or LinkedIn profile can reveal.
  • #3 – Phishing: A fake service ticket or Slack message asks for urgent admin credentials. The sender looks familiar. But are they?
  • #6 – Command & Control: An unauthorized person enters the office during a delivery. We use real imagery of your workspace to simulate how physical access opens digital doors.
  • #7 – Actions on objectives: A deepfake voicemail from a senior client requests emergency server access. Will your team follow protocol—or react impulsively?

“The topic comes to life. Because it’s an interactive game, you become much more engaged with the material than you would with a one-sided presentation. The game is easy to play, immerses you in a (for me) unfamiliar world, and offers great insight into how hackers operate. We’re more predictable than we think, and there’s more information about you out there than you realize—it’s good to be aware of this.” Thijs & Roel Driessen Ezzy’s – Company Directors

“I had the opportunity to play the game in segments of about 15 minutes. I can admit that I ended up completing the entire game in one evening on the couch, with my partner watching along—who immediately booked it for his company. It’s incredibly well-designed. I now understand the dangers of cybercrime and am genuinely 100 times more alert.” Samira Ramshai Cibdol – CEO

“My field is communication and word-of-mouth marketing. There’s no doubt this will win awards in 2025 and spread like wildfire across the world. I’ve secured my diploma, and I also loved the fact that I got to be on the radio to share my story about the experiences me and my team had—#milestone!” Rob de Groot Raaker – CEO

“I’ve been looking for years for an e-learning, workshop, or other solution for my employees. It’s always been challenging to get them engaged—they often think it’s dry material. But the moment the popcorn buckets, filled and ready, were placed on their desks, it was showtime. Everyone completed the game that very same day! Awareness in just 2 hours: ideal. And even now, it’s still a weekly topic in the break room. Truly impressive—compliments to you!” Yuri Bartels Snowlife – CEO
“I think the phases are well-structured, and the storytelling is fantastic in combination with the games and tasks. Truly awesome and groundbreaking. Many companies and organizations will benefit from and enjoy this.” Anke van de Klundert Brand Bakery – Digital Communication Specialist
